A La carte services

I recommend that you hire your postpartum care early, preferably by the beginning of your third
trimester, because our Ncs & doulas’ schedules often will fill up. It is fine to call us at any time, though,
to see if we have availability. We have had some clients hire me in the second month and others call
after the baby was born.

Postpartum care can be expensive due to various factors.

Firstly, it often involves specialized professionals who provide personalized support and guidance to
new mothers and families.

These professionals typically undergo extensive training and may have higher hourly rates or fees
associated with their services. Additionally, postpartum care may include services such as lactation
consultation, newborn care, emotional support, and assistance with household tasks, all of which
contribute to the overall cost. Moreover, the duration and intensity of postpartum care can vary
depending on individual needs, which may also influence the final price.

Newborn Care Specialists are different from Baby Nurses or Night Nurses, who are licensed
medical professionals with RN or LPN medical licenses. The term “Newborn Care Specialist”
was created in 2007 by The International Nanny Association, and while Newborn Care
Specialists are highly trained in newborn care, they are usually non-medical professionals.

A doula is a trained individual who provides emotional, physical, and informational support to
expecting mothers and their partners before, during, and after childbirth.

Postpartum doulas care for the newborn, and they nurture the birthing parent, and the family as a
whole. A postpartum doula’s training and expertise centers around infant development, care, and
feeding. They also receive training to support families through postpartum mood disorders, family
bonding, and healing after birth. I can say that we carry both wide and deep knowledge of all things
baby and postpartum, such that we can offer support, ideas, and referrals, as needed.

While postpartum doulas offer plenty of direct support, we also help family’s coordinate the care they
need. This includes coordinating meals/food, household chores and tasks, and sibling care. We also
help ensure that logistics in the home are as smooth and easeful as possible, helping families set up
stations for feeding, diapering, and so on.

Postpartum Doulas can work daytime or overnights– get a glimpse into my work as an overnight
doula here. Our goal is to work our way out of the job, handing off the skills, information, and
confidence to the parents at a pace that works for them.

A Newborn Care Specialist (NCS) is an infant care professional with advanced education who provides expert care
for infants. Their main focus is on the baby, and they will offer parents education and direction for how to care for
baby under the latest recommendations from the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), Center for Disease
Control (CDC), World Health Organization (WHO), and many other professional health organizations.

Most NCS tend to focus on sleep. While some NCS work only the first few months, many others work through the
first year. An NCS may offer consultations, overnight sleep support, daytime newborn care and education, or
24/7/travel support. An NCS works with a goal of establishing a routine for the baby.

Newborn nannies are another care option for growing families. Nannies generally follow the instructions and
direction of the parents. While some nannies will have an abundance of experience with children of varying ages,
there are no set training requirements necessary to work as a nanny. Many families will transition to using a nanny
as their child gets older and needs nurturing reliable but less specialized care.

It is important to note that a “Night Nanny” generally does not have the same qualifications as an NCS
and is primarily a person who comes into your home and cares for your newborn at night. She is
usually there to simply change diapers and feed the baby

A night nurses provide medically-focused newborn support. They are legally required to carry an RN license in
many states. This term “night nurse” is often misused to describe NCS (see above). So here’s what you need to
know: Nursing care means that your family is receiving medical or clinical care. This is a less common form of
support, but it’s one that you might want to know about based on your baby’s physical and medical needs.

A sleep consultant helps parents create a plan to help their child develop healthy sleep
patterns. We do this by assessing the child’s sleep habits, identifying the causes of any sleep
difficulties, offering advice on routines and training methods, and providing emotional support
throughout the process, all while considering the preferences of the family and child.

We will sign a contract to formalize our agreement. To secure my availability, a 50% retainer fee
would be required upfront for newborn care and Doula services. Let’s work together to make
this process as smooth and stress-free as possible.

Yes, depending on my availability. Most of the time, I already have another contract to start. That’s
why I recommend that you ask all your questions, talk to your partner to be sure of the time you will
have an NCS or Doula. Because most of the time we cannot extend it as we already have another
contract to start right after yours. If your main goal is sleep conditioning your baby to sleep through
the night, I recommend a 16-week contract to ensure that we will be able to have your baby sleep
from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. or get close to it.

Also, with a 16-week contract, we can do the transition from the swaddle to the sleep sack and ensure
that your baby is fully transitioned.

Unfortunately, no guarantees here. Babies aren’t like robots; we can’t just program
them to sleep perfectly. But we can promise that we’ll give it our all over four
weeks to improve your baby’s sleep. If you’re still having trouble after that, we’ll
explore other factors that might be causing sleep issues. We also work as a
We work as a team with the parents. We need you to follow the instructions during those hours when
we are not with the baby.

Sleep hygiene is simply a healthy way to approach sleep – like getting enough naps in, making the
most out of natural daylight and winding down with a bedtime routine.

Postpartum Doula

I include many of the NCS services with my Postpartum Doula clients as well. As a Postpartum Doula, I also provide emotional support, breastfeeding support, laundry, cooking small healthy meals, help with a sibling, etc. Postpartum Doulas come to help your family as a whole. I will make sure mom is getting enough rest and staying hydrated, especially when nursing. I am available for full-time overnight and part-time daytime hours. Daytime care is designed for parents who need some “handson” help during the day, so they can rest, run errands, take a shower, or just take a nap. I will take full care of the baby, help with baby-related chores, and educate parents on infant care so they can thrive as parents. Let’s schedule a video consultation to discuss your needs, available options, and pricing.

Sleep Support

One of the biggest challenges when bringing home a newborn is getting acquainted with their schedule. Newborns sleep around 15-17 hours per day, and although they require a lot of sleep, the length of time they spend sleeping can vary. This is why it is so beneficial to hire a Pediatric Sleep Consultant. This service is included with the Newborn Care and Postpartum Doula options (but you can also book it separately).

Infants establish their sleep patterns over the first 12 weeks of their lives. As I have witnessed during my years as a Newborn Care Specialist, there are many factors that affect a newborn’s ability to fall asleep and stay asleep. Newborn sleep patterns differ greatly compared to the sleep patterns they will have as a toddler and beyond, which is why a Sleep Consultant can be extremely helpful during your baby’s newborn stage.

Being a Sleep Consultant with a focus on sleep conditioning, my primary goal is helping your baby get on a great daytime and overnight schedule from day one and sleeping from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. straight through by 12-16 weeks old. This includes parent education, feeding support, scheduling, and overall newborn care support. (Sometimes, because of baby health issues, it can take longer.)

À la carte budget services

I understand that not everyone can afford Postpartum Care.

Thinking about these people, I decided to offer some individual options so that those who cannot afford to hire postpartum care for 12-16 weeks can have some assistance.

You can have a Newborn Care Specialist (NCS) or Doula come in for a few hours during the day when you need a break. Additionally, I can assist you at your doctors’ appointments or provide support while you rest during the day. This could involve helping with chores around the house, giving you the opportunity to take a long and relaxing shower, or simply allowing you to rest and take a nap.

*(You can add more hours for an additional hourly rate, based on availability in my schedule.*

The rates for the full contract are different.

** This would make a great gift for a friend in need or for a family member. I have gift vouchers available for purchasing this service and giving it as a gift to someone.

***The scheduling will be based on my availability at the time.
